“I started about three weeks ago and have dropped 10lbs. It is a great workout. I think the combination of different things is working for me. Simply wonderful book, thanks!”

"I am a fit group exercise and cycling instructor, and occasional recreational athlete. I am also a 41 year-old recent hip replacement woman who is struggling to redefine myself.
I recently purchased your book and have only read the first couple of chapters. I am already motivated to quit a job (outside of my teaching) that needs me more than I need it. It will be a financial strain on my family, but my husband is supportive of helping me set and reach goals that will make me happy. Thank you for encouraging this process. I would otherwise have been "killing time" and hiding behind the excuses that "I am a mom and my boys are just too young, etc."

"Thus far, I have really enjoyed your book and the workouts - they are truly smokers. I am an adventure racer primarily, but am training for an Ironman in OCT, a 50KM race in AUG, and a 6 mile ocean swim in NOV. Despite all the training I am doing, and a pretty solid base, I find that Hyper-Fitness really pushes me.
I have also really enjoyed your personal stories and your goal program. Interestingly, one of my Inner Everest goals is to climb the outer Everest, and I have a great appreciation for your accomplishments. I also got your book at a great time in my life - one where I was struggling to figure out what is important to me and what I want to truly do with my life.
All the best and thanks for putting a great program out there - I have been telling all my friends about it."

“In an age of screens and isolation, Sweatworking makes a case for reclaiming connection through movement and community. Sean Burch’s expedition-tested perspective brings credibility that the idea of shared physical challenges creates deeper trust and better results. BTW: I loved the appendices, which provide everything an executive or HR professional can implement in their company.
I’m going to do my best to get my company on board with this.”

“I’ve been training with Sean for seven years. I was just looking for self-defense instruction to protect me and my family. Little did I know that Sean’s expertise would give me so much more.
Thanks to Sean, I was able to blend confidence, focus, and discipline into a successful career track. Despite having worked in the US Government for nine years, I was still a junior-grade employee, having had only two promotions and had no clear vision of how I was going to achieve my goals. Training with Sean—learning from Sean—not only built my physical conditioning and self-defense skills, but also instilled confidence and discipline that helped me dramatically accelerate my career. I went from two promotions in nine years pre-Sean to four promotions in seven years post-Sean. The number of awards I received tripled after I started working with Sean. I rose from a run-of-the-mill analyst with no supervisory role to the deputy chief of a 65-person group, the latter at a grade lower than most people are even considered for the position. Sure, I worked hard for these achievements, but I had worked hard before, too. You can bang as hard as you want to in trying to open a door, but a key is so much easier. Training with Sean melded the key for me, and I’ve benefited greatly. I’m still learning from every session with Sean; the sessions are critical for my job satisfaction and focus.
In addition to being a world-class instructor, Sean is an extraordinary man. Despite his world record accomplishments, Sean focuses more on other people: his family, his friends, and his students than he does on himself.
It was this blend of accomplishment and compassion and earthshaking passion, let me tell you, that drove me up a 2,500 mountain during a recent hike. I had never hiked a mountain this high, and even though it was miniscule by Sean’s standards, it was my Everest (as Sean himself pointed out to me). It was far more difficult than I could have imagined. Forget wooded, grassy paths: this was a boulder-strewn, stone-laden maze you could just barely call a path. Going up was tough; struggling down was tougher. I was getting schooled, and I didn’t like it. However, every time I felt as if I couldn’t make it up the mountain, every time I felt as if my burning quads were going to give way down the mountain, I heard Sean’s voice in my head: “Breathe, focus, brother. Are you going to let this mountain beat you? How bad do you want it?” The truth was, I wanted it bad. The mountain tempted me, taunted me, but I never could have met the challenge without Sean. His teachings—both physical and mental—again provided me the key.
Take it from me: you’ve never really seen energy and inspiration unless you know, have met, or read the words of Sean Burch. Take a read; it’ll do you good—for a lifetime.”

"I read your book it was awesome! I own a fitness facility in New York state . I am a Doctor of Chiropractic as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Also I am a martial artist background in sambo/bjj. Just started your program WHAT AN EYE OPENER! Thanks for the extra push. I’m 43 and getting in the best shape of my life. "As a long time group fitness instructor who is bored with counting, counting, counting, I was thrilled to find your book and begin your program. It was like a breath of fresh air and my body is reacting in ways I barely remember. So, thanks for the great info the book provides.
Thanks for reading!"

"The exercise routine ( I am starting at the Climber level) is comparable to the Special Forces Combat Diver (Key West Fla.) daily exercise routine. It is tough and keeps the heart rate up while stimulating the whole body to perform. I do plan to complete the 12-week program."

"Thanks for getting back to me. I do love the book and the philosophy behind the program. Today was my first day doing the full first two week "climber" program. Whew!! It was tough but I loved it. It makes so much sense and is indeed challenging and fun. Last week after buying the book I worked on adding a few hyperfitness exercises to my regular routine and even that gave a whole new quality to my workout. I am a Yoga Therapist and work with private clients on a holistic mind, body, spirit approach to their lives. Vigorous exercise is almost always lacking in addition to come of the other issues that bring them to me.
I am a 59 year old African-American woman and am way more fit than the average woman my age. At 50 I ran the Marine Corp Marathon and at 54 I cycled from Raleigh, NC to DC in AIDSRide. However in the last few years all of my exercising has not kept weight from creeping on. Last summer I was cycling 75-100 miles a week and all I did was maintain at 143lb. (I'm only 5'4") This year I have been cycling, jogging, walking and doing weights and have still put on 7lbs! I was at my wits end since I exercise 4-5 days a week. I must add that I am an extremely healthy eater--no junk or fast food. Lean protein, lots of organic and local fruits and veggies, etc.
I think I understand the concepts that the Hyperfitness system is based on and I love the variety and the challenges. So I am psyched."

“Burch’s book (Sweatworking) argues that the best professional relationships are made through effort, not conversation alone. I think it works. His practical strategies feel fresh and directly usable. The book balances big-picture vision with steps for individuals and organizations. It’s an energizer for sure, and good for HR professionals to read. A valuable addition to any leadership or wellness library.
Sean, hope you return to South Asia soon. Would love to hear you speak again!”

"I don't even know where to begin but you have already made a huge impact on my life. Here's the short version: I bought the book and was sucked in right from page 1. I decided that my Everest would be a triathlon. I had never done one but had some exp. as a runner and cyclist. So based on your guidance, I set my goal high. I wrote down in my journal, "I want to be a triathlon champion."
I just competed in my first sprint triathlon. I was the 3rd woman overall and 1st in my age group.
I am still in disbelief. I didn't think that was possible until I read your book.
Thank you, Sean!!!!!!!"

"Hi this is Sean from Long Beach. I just wanted to tell Sean again how absolutely impressed I am with this program (and the book as a whole). This past Sunday I ran my 1st 5K ever and placed 1st in my age group and 15th overall. I never had ever ran more than a mile at a time and after just 5 weeks of the program I was able to do this. Anyways, I've just been so excited everyday to get my workout in and am looking forward to competing in future running events and triathlons."
Thanks again,

"As you know I am getting ready to embark on extremely complex and challenging adventure. My lack of trepidation or fear is a direct result of the mental and physical conditioning you have provided me over the past 2 ½ years. You have an incredible talent for taking an exercise routine to another level of conditioning and then translating the sweat and soreness into mental strength, confidence and the self assurance that you can do anything. I am 100% confident that I will be successful in executing this extremely vital mission and I will do that by surrounding myself with people who share the passion, energy, and desire to make a difference. People like yourself and the others in your Hyperfitness program.
Our world changes second by second and you clearly are leading change and leading revolution in your area of expertise. This inspires me daily because I work in a world where the enemy is changing it’s tactics daily and if I were to be a manager of status quo, people will lose their lives. Your energy is infectious and when I walk out of class, I know there is nothing that will challenge more for the rest of the day. That is a huge confidence boost, especially when you are in a leadership position like I am where you have to set the bar high everyday and demonstrate that you are willing to jump over it again and again. This is called leadership by example, which you exemplify everyday. When we’re a country at war and you have a part to play in protecting all that we stand for, you can’t afford to come in and just give it a half ass effort. When I leave that gym after 90 minutes of your program, I walk out with the confidence that I can accomplish any task that is thrown at me. Thanks for empowering me!
I came across this quote and immediately thought of you:
"True leaders are not those who strive to be first but those who are first to strive and who give their all for the success of the team.
True leaders are first to see the need, envision the plan, and empower the team for action.
By the strength of the leader's commitment, the power of the team is unleashed."
Thanks for all that you’ve given me over the past couple years. You have changed the entire way I approach life’s challenges and opportunities. I am a better person, husband, father, leader because of it. I’ll miss you and the gang and will return just as soon as I can."

“Your Sweatworking book is a powerful wake-up call about the costs of disconnection and inactivity. I like how your approach turns wellness into a tool for authentic collaboration, stronger teams, and personal energy. The writing was energetic and supported in both science and lived experience. I love that! An inspiring guide for professionals ready to lead with both body and mind! Thanks Sean!”

"My metabolism had slowed and it seemed there was nothing I could do to stop gaining weight but go on a fad diet or work out. I like food so the diet wasn’t an option for me. I don’t enjoy running on a tread-mill or machine which is why Sean’s book and class made sense for me. Sean does a great job of mixing the class up to ensure that every muscle in your body is used and that you are continually doing different exercises. I’ve been sore in muscles I didn’t even know I had."

"I have taken Sean’s classes for nearly 4 years, and read his book. In that time I have experienced something magical.
Not only did we have some common interests but I also found in him a level of enthusiasm and a commitment to outstanding physical conditioning that I have not experienced with any other instructor or trainer that I have ever worked with.
When you take one of Sean’s classes you immediately notice that he is incredibly well prepared. His selection of music for each of his different classes is outstanding. While many instructors play something appropriate, Sean plays music that invigorates and energizes. Music that couldn’t be any better for that specific class or for that particular pace.
The other incredible difference with Sean’s classes is that he doesn’t just teach, he inspires. And what levels of inspiration! While most instructors guide class participants from off in the distant sidelines, barely audible somewhere in your subconscious, Sean actually does each and every drill with his class, screaming instructions and motivating his charges to excel - he goes out of his way to inspire by example. You want to keep up, even though you know you can’t. But you end up reaching levels you never imagined.
But only after you have been working out with Sean for a long time, and when you take a class with other trainers, do you realize how different his sessions really are.
He mixes exercises up in a way that make them interesting, while giving you the workout of your life. He ever so subtly introduces routines that work different parts of your body. Ever the innovator, he’s constantly trying new techniques, absorbing new fitness theories, and enhancing his classes’ fitness experience. No wonder he and his classes have been featured in so many television and editorial articles. So if anyone’s looking to be super fit, from head to toe, take classes with Sean or read his book! Without a doubt he is the best fitness instructor I’ve ever worked with."

"This year during my annual physical my Doctor was so impressed with the change from last year that he told me I motivated him to take Sean's class.
Prescription: Sean Burch's class 5 times a weeks equals a strong body, strong heart, and strong mind. If you can't, then for godsake read his book.
During my annual physical stress test I told the Doctor I was going to run faster and longer then anyone else had on the tread mill. They laughed and thirty minutes later he had the whole staff watching me on the treadmill. They finally admitted I had push the machine farther then anyone else had. Thank you Sean.
I've been taking Sean Burch's classes for years and I enjoy the challenge every day. It's always changing and your constantly working a different part of the body as well as your mind.
If you enjoy feeling good with a strong mind and body, you'll love Sean Burch's class."

"Group fitness programs never interested me prior to hooking-up with Sean Burch’s distinctive creative training principles. His persona raised my enthusiasm to achieve all around physical health. His programs and books contain challenge, fun, and interesting activities such as obstacle courses.
I have seen it all at my senior age and will not tolerate or waste time working with some guy on a power trip standing around shouting orders, trying to trash my body, boring drills, or dancy routines at the other end. Sean got my interest in improving my physical and mental state through creative workout routines. Most importantly, he always does every single drill with his students, and leads by example. This is something I admire and look up to greatly.
Each session contained purposes to help me improve my overall fitness level. For example, the studio cycle sessions prompted me to bring my cycling to higher degree. Other classes seem satisfied with the Sunday Ride with bad music, which I ask myself why bother. His approach helped me handle extreme physical challenges sometimes encountered during my triathlon races. Sean taught me to enjoy the challenges encountered and appreciate what I could do, enjoy the moment, and live in the "now". I now see training as a spiritual experience and know how to overcome physical injury or pain. I appreciated his recognition of my trying my best within my own limitations and never feeling intimidated or inadequate. At the end of each session, I felt I had a good time, improved my current physical state, and packed-in an excellent workout. After his sessions, I would be all-fired-up to continue to do sport specific training for triathlon races.
What I learned from Sean was applied to several recent personal mishaps. I looked at these mishaps as an adventure and something to overcome. I was able to continue triathlon races no knowing at the time I have 99% coronary artery blockage; later broke two ribs but able to return to swimming within a week. Both these episodes would have stopped me in my tracks had I not had several years of working with Sean."

"Three years ago I never would have even considered being at the gym at 5:30 am 5 days a week to take classes with someone like Sean Burch. Getting up at 6:45 to go to work was enough of a struggle, and after work I would come home and lay on the couch and watch TV. I used to walk into a class at the gym, and turn around and walk back out if I saw that Sean was teaching the class. He was way too intense for me and he played loud, obnoxious music instead of the bubble gum aerobics mix that all of the other instructors used. But after trying every other class at the gym, in addition to tapes at home, I found that I was bored and not very motivated. Doing the same routine to the same sequence of songs day after day did not appeal to me. I did not enjoy taking a class where an instructor would simply stand in front of the class for half the time telling everyone what to do, instead of actually working out with them. I began taking classes with Sean because I felt like I needed a new challenge. I can honestly say that each day in Sean's class is a new challenge both mentally and physically. Every day is something new and you never know what to expect, even the music is always different, loud, but different and it makes you move. I have never left one of Sean's classes feeling like I have just had an easy workout, where I slacked off or didn't try to push myself further than I thought I could go to keep up. There have been several times when I have just wanted to quit and leave in the middle of class, or that I have sworn that I would never go back to another class again. But for some reason I always end up going back the next day. Missing class or just sleeping in during the summertime isn't an option. There seems to be some kind of camaraderie among the people who consistently show up every morning. No matter how challenging the classes are or how bizarre the drills are, you cannot beat the feeling that you have after you survive class and leave to start the day with a clear head-even if you are too sore to walk or move your arms! Ultimately I think that it is Sean's unconventional approach along with the fact that he practices what he preaches that keeps me coming back. He does each drill with the class, plays loud music, and has a unique way of motivating you to push yourself beyond your limits, or at least what you perceived your limits to be. He is incredibly fit and seems to have an endless supply of energy. The class consists of people at various fitness levels, yet he seems to know everyone's potential and expects you to work up to that potential, and will call you on it if you do not. What is the point of getting up at that hour if you are not going to push yourself? Many are curious about the class and what goes on. I have tried to explain it to others, however words do not accurately describe it-you need to actually experience it. Many just assume that it is a boot camp class, which it definitely is not. Since I have been taking these classes, I have become more confident and attempted to do things that I would never have considered before. For example, participating in a 70-mile bike ride through the foothills of Austin, after only being outside on a bike once, or running a 15 K that I had only watched as a spectator for years. I am physically stronger and fit at this point in my life than I have ever been.
For those not fortunate enough to train with Sean, his book does a pretty wonderful job, and will help get you where you need to be. Once he moves on from teaching our class, as I’m sure he will, this will be my go-to."

"Ever since I decided to participate in Sean’s class I feel so much stronger both mentally and physically. I feel more fit now than I was in high school and college years. This class has taken my fitness to another level. Taken it up a notch. I can do things now that I thought would be impossible in my youth. I have more endurance and stamina than ever before. Before, I used to just run and do one or two exercises, but now I have so many options on the type of exercises I can do. The various types that I have learned in class have helped my workouts when not in class to be more rewarding. I do not take anything for granted when it comes to my health and fitness any more.
The results from the class and reading his book have been quite evident for me. My colleagues at work now look up to me as a role model: for them I am someone who just decided to do something about my fitness and make a big change in my lifestyle (but not before they call me crazy for doing this class). I have motivated my colleagues to start their own exercise programs, eat right and maintain healthy lifestyles and run a race or two here and there.
The Hyperfitness program and book has fostered the be prepared for anything attitude. Nine times out of ten your mental strength determines how far you can go in a workout. This has taught me that there is a greater connection between one’s mental state and body. For one I have learned to know myself better, that is, what I can accomplish. I can workout on my own because I have learned so many different exercises routines. I do not need to be in a gym to do this. If one is serious about their well-being they can do anything and still feel great about themselves. For example since taking Hyperfitness I now look at my 3-seat couch in a different way. It is not just a place to sit on anymore, but also an object on which I can do some incline/decline pushups, stick my feet underneath and do some ab crunches. I can put my feet on it and do more abdominal crunches. I can jump over it, not a good idea sometimes, or I can see how far along it can I do a squat lunge? These are some of the things one begins to think about. One's fitness and exercise should be a constant: it should not be seasonal, but an everyday routine; that is Sean motto and it should be everyone's as well.
Since taking the class and reading his book, I have also had to find another goal to help me measure how successful this program has been in getting me in better shape. I decided to sign up with other guys in the class to do an adventure race. This has been helpful, because now my training has also been tailored towards that goal. It has helped me stay focused and not ask myself the burnout question: why am I doing this?
Sean is a master at motivating everyone. First he breaks you down with his brutal physical routine but at the same time strengthening your staying power, that is, mentally of course. You might hit the zone here, but most of the time you wouldn’t know because there is so much going with your body: sometimes it’s like hitting a wall. But when you do find the zone, you’ll never forget it."

"A few years ago I began a new job working in Chantilly, VA during the week, commuting to my home in Fort Lauderdale, FL on the weekends, a schedule I still keep. After finding an apartment to rent, my first item of personal business was to find a gym and a program that would challenge me. After visits to 7 different gyms, I was unable to connect with a program that was remotely appropriate and was very discouraged. Then I checked out a gym in Centreville, and specifically the suite of programs taught by Sean Burch. Unlike most of his students, I knew nothing of Sean’s incredible personal athletic accomplishments. I just happened upon the Club and him by blind luck! What good fortune it was, too! I have never been more motivated by a leader or program than Sean’s, nor as satisfied with the results.
His book was life-changing! I am preparing to run the Marathon des Sables in Morocco and know that I will be physically and mentally prepared to run it competitively as a result of Sean’s example.
I know Sean to be one of the most extraordinary, creative and committed persons I have ever met. I, for one, certainly point with pride to my good fortune in being able to work out with him and his programs."

"Although I had no symptoms, based on my family history of heart disease, my primary physician ordered a stress test as part of a physical. The test results were abnormal which subsequently led to immediate additional tests over scheduled as soon as feasible. The nuclear stress test and angiogram followed resulted in a diagnosis of coronary artery disease and revealed four coronary arteries more than 90% blocked. I underwent quad bypass surgery at the age of 53.
I returned to work approximately eight weeks after surgery although full recovery and a return to near normal took quite a bit longer. There were both physical and mental challenges to all that went on and while I consider myself very lucky (to be alive, to be with my family, to have had a good family doctor, to be healthy) it is an ordeal that I urge all to avoid. Unlikely many, I wanted to exercise post surgery during cardiac rehabilitation (which I did on my own). Four months post surgery, I could not do a single sit up (latent incision pain and muscle atrophy).
My real progress since the surgery has come when I started training under the direction of Sean Burch’s Hyperfitness program and his book! For me, the results have been extraordinary. Even with the beta blocker I take everyday (suppresses the fight/flight response, makes you tire more quickly and reduces your heart rate by 10-20 bpm), in training with Sean, I've raised my AT by some 20-25 bpm over what it was when I started the class, my overall cardiac fitness has increased dramatically to the point where I do things now that 4-5 months ago there would have been no way (warming up on the tread mill at a pace more than 2 mph faster than I could do when I started and leaping multiple times onto steps with 10 risers in but one of the most recent examples). I enjoy a level of fitness and well being that I have not experienced since being a teenager. And it is not only the physical, my mind and spirit are also much better for it. Having "aced" the nuclear stress test last month and having your cardiologist tell you to keep doing what you are doing are just more encouragement to keep pushing forward.
Thanks for everything."

"When I first joined a gym I watched this wild class that was being led by some crazy guy at 5:30 in the morning! I tried the program, Hyperfitness, and read his book, and became hooked! The program and book provided me with the challenge that I needed. The instructor, Sean Burch, is someone that I have come to know and admire since that first day. Sean not only provides his students with the skills to take on any individual challenge, he also builds a special kind of camaraderie that you won’t find anywhere else. He is a great source of inspiration for us!
His program is a life-long commitment. As I trained with him I realized that I was capable of taking on an “extreme” physical challenge of my own. I trained for the DC Aids Ride and endured a physically and mentally challenging training schedule for four months. I attribute the will and drive I had while training to the challenges I took on with Sean in his Hyperfitness programs.
Living, working and raising a family in Northern Virginia presents daily challenges. My daily commute has almost doubled in the last year. I changed my work schedule in order to avoid a daily three commute, which meant I could no longer take Sean’s program early in the morning. I searched for a new work/fitness schedule that included looking at several gyms that were close to my office in Herndon. I couldn’t find a program that compared to Sean’s Hyperfitness program.
A few weeks ago I realized that I had to make whatever schedule changes were necessary in order to enroll back in Sean’s programs. What caught my attention was something he wrote in an email to me after pointing out my interest in getting back in his program. His statement perfectly described my situation:
“My Hyperfitness program was created specifically to prepare individuals to accomplish new goals, adventures, and to create athletes out of the de-conditioned, but motivated individuals who were once in shape, but have succumbed to their job load, marriage and kids, etc..”
It is because of Sean Burch and the dedication he has to his students that I am exercising today. I am ready to take on any challenge in life, and follow any program Sean Burch teaches."

"Each day in Sean Burch’s Hyperfitness program and book I am pushed well beyond what I would normally do on my own. In Sean’s program, I'm constantly pushed well outside my comfort zone. In fact, I push myself constantly, encouraged by his enthusiasm.
By extending my fitness levels each day in the Hyperfitness program I’ve been able to accomplish goals and exceed targets I never could have on my own. I've realized my fitness potential as an "early thirties, married father of two." Competing in multi-sport races over 30 miles and lasting over 7 hours seemed to me the events of single, twenty-something fitness fanatics --"human freaks of nature." The book led me to be competitive in these "adventure races." Knowing Sean’s accomplishments, and realizing what I’m capable of, has given me the confidence that I can accomplish many things, whether it’s in the gym, at work, or at home.
What I’ve learned is that until you’ve made the commitment to Sean’s program, you’re never going to comprehend what we’re all about, and you’re never going to understand what it means to be “Burch-trained!”

“Sean Burch’s Sweatworking offers a compelling case for replacing superficial networking with shared physical effort. He draws from his expedition background and Hyperfitness programming (I have that book too). He shows how workouts and outdoor challenges forge genuine trust and resilience far better than coffee meetings or cocktail hours. Sweatworking is practical, motivational, and timely given rising isolation and sedentary work culture. For leaders who want stronger teams and healthier lives.”

"Six years ago I was in the mainstream of thinking that I did not have enough time to spend at the gym; that it would interfere with my professional and personal growth. At times I would make an effort to get back into shape and would lift weights and take some gym sponsored class. Soon I was back to my same old routine, thinking this is what the real world was all about. Were my best years behind me? Did I peak at 18 or 22?
One of the best decision I have ever made which has had a major impact on all aspects of my life was to try Sean Burch’s programs. Little did I know that after sticking it out these few years not only has gotten me into superior shape but has improved my productivity at work, my personal relationships with family and friends and has proven to me that I am capable of setting any goal and meeting them or more importantly exceeding them.
Sean’s ability to motivate, inspire and teach is priceless. I fully believe that the majority of people quit fitness programs because they get tired of doing the same old exercises. They never find the journey to success because no one has shown them the way. After years with Sean, his books, I still am not knowing what to expect. I do know when I leave a class I have won, I have won the battle over compliancy and it starts my day off knowing whatever challenges are ahead they will be conquered.
There are winners and losers in this world. Everyone that takes Sean’s Hyperfitness program or reads his book are winners in the game of life! Our teacher has truly shown us the way!"

"Throughout the years that I have participated in Sean's Hyperfitness program and followed his books, I have found that my workouts and outlook about exercise have changed dramatically. I've never felt that I've been athletic. In fact, growing up I was always chosen last for team sports. However, just last month I achieved a once unattainable goal; a half marathon. Not only did I complete it, I was faster than I anticipated. Sean's programs have challenged me to do my best, become physically fit, and instilled confidence in my own abilities.
His positive attitude is contagious and as a result, the members in his program have become a family. Through Sean I have learned that determination and hard work will drive you to do your personal best in all areas of your life. I am a living testament to that!"

"Every morning I have awaken at 4 a.m. to make the hour drive to the gym so I can train with Sean. I began training with him over 4 years ago when I lived only five minutes from the gym, but life took my husband and I out of town. I knew things would change; however, one sacrifice I was not willing to make was giving up training with Sean and his Hyperfitness programs. I remember the workouts before training in his program, and there was no way I could go back.
At the end of a workout with Sean, I leave not only feeling a great overall muscle fatigue in muscles that I did not even know existed, but I also feel a great sense of accomplishment. In addition to getting a phenomenal physical workout, I also get myself into the right mindset to be able to handle the day’s events. I have personally experienced how most things in life are all mental and your success has to do with what you mentally tell yourself you are or are not able to accomplish. Through Sean’s Hyperfitness program and his book, I reflect back on what I have accomplished and realize that if you set a goal, and set your mind to it, then you can accomplish it. If you cheat along the way or fall into the trap of mediocrity then the only one you are cheating is yourself. At the end of a Hyperfitness day, I have done things that the majority would think are unfathomable to accomplish.
I hear Sean’s motivational comments and sayings throughout the day and any time I have a moment of weakness, feel like taking a short cut, or doing a substandard job like other co-workers, I realize that if I chose that route I would be no better than the others and would only be cheating myself.
I appreciate Sean’s programs because the workouts are always unique and anything but monotonous and routine. The drills from day to day, week to week, month to month, are always different and there is never time to get bored or stagnant within your workout. Every day, more and more, I realize that not only do I enjoy the natural high I get from exercising where I can feel each and every endorphin firing, but I also appreciate the mental workout I receive which allows me to be in the right frame of mind to have a productive day and to always perform to the best of my ability, especially with the high stress job I perform.
I have continued to train in Sean’s Hyperfitness program and book even while pregnant with twins. I have no doubt that all the training, both physical and mental, that I did with Sean prior to getting pregnant has helped situate me in the place I am now allowing me to continue training with him. I now have to go slower due to being pregnant and all the demands pregnancy puts on one’s body, which also means modified exercises provided from Sean, but all the while the workout still remains challenging and effective. I have no doubt that all the mental training I have learned from Sean’s Hyperfitness programs inside of and outside of the gym will help me get through labor and delivery."

"My original workout routine was humdrum to say the least. Everyone has a story for why they can’t make a workout, and I am no different. Eventually my story changed and becoming physically fit became a priority. In addition to cardiovascular training and weight lifting, I attended a variety of exercise classes, and even hired a personal trainer. None of these endeavors were going to keep me coming back to the gym or motivate me to make exercise a permanent part of my lifestyle. I needed a program that would truly motivate me to work my hardest to achieve my potential.
The Hyperfitness programs and book have made a huge impact in my life. I feel better today than I did a decade ago. Sean instills a team atmosphere and holds all his students accountable for their efforts. He has high expectations and encourages us to achieve our goals both in and out of the gym. Sean is with us every step of the way on our road to wellness and personally puts his methods to the test, as demonstrated by his impressive running and mountaineering feats. How inspiring to have your instructor “walk the walk” or in this case, “run the run.”
I have been participating in Sean’s programs before, during, and after pregnancy. To continue with the Hyperfitness program during my pregnancy was the best decision I ever made. A few modifications to the program were required, but the expectations stayed the same. I felt great throughout the entire nine months and was able to continue my workouts until my due date. After the baby, I took a few weeks off then jumped right back into the Hyperfitness programs. Gradually I have achieved, even surpassed, my pre-pregnancy fitness. I have more energy throughout the day, carry less stress with me, and am happier than I’ve ever been. I am currently looking forward to my first triathlon, something I would have never attempted a few years ago, let alone a few months after having a baby."

“Sean Burch has made a dramatic improvement in my life, during the time that I have known him. My goals were simple; improve my fitness so that I could play with my children, and improve my golf/tennis game. I had limited fitness and several previous sports injuries, which were limiting what I thought I could achieve.
The Hyperfitness programs and book were the most challenging I have experienced, and one of his mantra’s “put in the effort, and you will get the results” was true when I started and is still true today. His programs made me “functional”, meaning I am now capable of participating in a wide variety of sports – biking, tennis, running, volleyball, soccer, etc.
A solid benefit of his HL training is the mental side of fitness. He brings a unique intensity and focus to fitness that strips away the distractions and the “can’t-dos” that can easily impair the effectiveness of a program.
Now I am challenged with seeking out new fitness goals, since I have achieved and exceeded the fitness goals I had 5 months ago, and have recently set a new personal best in golf and ridden my bike 4 times farther than I had previously.
