Kitchen Confidential, Anthony Bourdain
The book that placed Bourdain on the map. He’s been dead for 6 years now, but when you read his words the flow and his state of being all come rushing back. One of the great things about books – it's on the written page forever. This reread was due to “the annotated edition” with handwritten commentary. This was why I decided to get this “new” release and reread the book I first read over 20 years ago. Don’t bother with this edition… it’s a few comments that add absolutely nothing to the story and overall insight of Bourdain. This book's release was just a way for people to make money off him even after he's dead. Stick with your own copy, and enjoy that for what it is – an insightful memoir of his years in the restaurant business.
