Happiness Becomes You, Tina Turner

Her most poignant novel and a great read for those interested in Buddhism but don’t really know much about it. Having studied Buddhism myself for over 15 years, it was wonderful to get her perspective and how Buddhism changed her life… most specifically with chanting of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, the essence of the Lotus Sutra. Spirituality isn’t tied to one religion or philosophy. It’s a personal awakening and relationship with Mother Earth and the universe that increases openness and positivity. Tina started in 1973, and has been practicing Buddhism for five decades. The read is her personal guidance on how to create lasting happiness and the spiritual truths she learned from childhood up to today. The more she chanted the more she felt her true self. She became so strong inside she was finally able to leave her first husband Ike. Today, doctors are increasingly acknowledging the positive effects of chanting on mental health challenges, including self-esteem, addiction, and recovering from PTSD.
